Shipping/Receiving Specialist
Employment Type: Full-Time, On-Site
Pay Rate: $22-26 an hour (dependent on experience)
Position Summary:
The Shipping/Receiving Specialist is a vital part of our operations, responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our inventory from the moment it arrives until it's shipped out. This role combines precise inventory counting and data management with hands-on shipping and receiving duties, all to support efficient and smooth workflows.
Key Responsibilities:
Cycle Counts: Conduct regular, accurate cycle counts of inventory items and fixed assets, strictly following established procedures.
Data Entry: Precisely enter all cycle count data into spreadsheets and our inventory tracking system.
Shipping & Receiving:
Receive incoming shipments: Unload, verify, and document all incoming materials and products.
Process outgoing shipments: Accurately pick, pack, label, and prepare orders for shipment, ensuring they meet delivery schedules.
Inspect items for damage or discrepancies upon arrival and before departure, documenting any issues.
Organize and maintain the receiving and shipping areas, including breaking down boxes and preparing packaging materials.
Inventory Management: Assist with overall inventory organization, ensuring items are stored correctly and accessible.
Data Analysis: Analyze inventory data, including cycle count results, to identify discrepancies, trends, and areas for improvement.
Process Improvement: Proactively suggest and implement improvements to inventory control, shipping, and receiving processes to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and safety.
Qualifications
Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
Proficiency in using spreadsheets (e.g., Microsoft Excel) and inventory management systems.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively as part of a team.
Physical ability to frequently lift and move inventory items (up to [Specify weight, e.g., 50 lbs]), stand, walk, and bend for extended periods.
Previous experience in inventory management, warehousing, shipping, or receiving is strongly preferred.
